“Can a machine actually think?”
No. It does not think the way you do. It counts. Artificial intelligence looks at millions of examples and learns which things usually happen together.
When it says a delivery will be late, it is not clairvoyant. It has seen thousands of similar deliveries, in similar weather, on similar roads.
So AI is only as good as the data it is fed. Bad data, confident nonsense. That is why we start with real measurements from real places.
In practice
BTS Brain sees that fish from three producers is heading the same way tomorrow — and suggests one van instead of three.
Try it yourself
Ask yourself: what would this machine need to have seen before, to be able to answer me?
